A large and complicated earthworks job for our client which required diversion of the existing Blackbrook stream route, substantial attenuation tanks to three sides of the unit, 2nr SUDs car parks including the installation of check-dams to the overflow car park due to the falls. The arisings remained on site and were utilised to form a 10m high earth retaining wall which we were in attendance to. When this was complete, it allowed for the formation of a new permanent entrance onto the A4023. Hannon’s were required to complete the foundations, drainage, services, kerbs and permeable paving. We were also asked to supply and install a pump chamber and rising main and form the sprinkler tank bases and internal plant bases/conveyor bases for the functioning of the unit. As part of the finishing works a self-bound pedestrian path needed to be reinstated, involving small plant to culvert streams and secure client handover.
Initially undertaking the enabling works including the main access spine road, services, drainage, headwalls and Tarmac. Hannon Brothers were awarded the main works which consisted of the construction of 4nr new units over 2 sites.
Creation of a new unit built over previous cooling tower foundations and RC Culvert taking water from the adjacent River Trent. The new plot is now adjacent to a busy road and rail freight terminal.
Creation of 6nr new units and associated access roads/ car parks on an old landfill tip that previously housed the old Imperial Tabacco factory.
One of the first fully EV future-proofed projects we undertook. The job required careful planning to maintain full use of a pedestrian and cycle path through the project.
